We had a lot of fun with my family in town this weekend. Uncle David took us all out back to Outback (I've been waiting for MONTHS for an opportunity to use that) and then we got Sub Zero Ice Cream. But the fun really started when we went back to Uncle Jim's house. If it wasn't the fireworks (celebrating July 24th, of course!) or the blasting potatoes into orbit, it was the very very funny game of props. I forgot how imaginative/creative/funny my dad's side of the family is. Not that it should be any surprise, after all, we all know how extremely hilarious I am. But it was great to see practically all my cousins (but 2) and all my aunts and uncles.It was a short visit, (btw, happy Birthday, Brett! I know how often you check this blog!) but I'm grateful I got to see them.
But that wasn't the only surprise of the weekend. (I mean good surprise. As my last post said, I was fired) On Saturday morning my best good friend in the whole wide world Justin and I were texting, planning on playing an online video game (World of Warcraft) together, mostly to visit and whatnot. Well, he texted me "I'm right here, Austin" which I assumed meant he was logged into the game, but then there was a knock at my door. I was going to tell Justin "how funny. right when you said 'I'm right here,' there was a knock at the door. But it was JUSTIN!! He and his fiancee Mandi drove down from Nebraska to see family and friends (we all know it was just to see me) and we had a lot of fun and laughs, much like we did with my other Justin who came down from Idaho earlier in the week.
So, even though you're out of a job, you can still be happy and have surprises and fun with family and friends.

I was so mad when I found out that Justin and Mandi were there! Ok, so I wasn't really mad, but slightly miffed that I missed them by just one weekend. That's what you get with spontenaity, though. I'm glad you were able to see him. :)

Question: all your aunts/cousins/uncles/other live in Utah Valley.
This will sound dumb, but I assume they were all from Texas just like all my family is in Utah Valley except for me and Troy (and temporarily HayLee)
I miss all the family fun get togethers. I am glad you get to enjoy the company and laughter. So important to have!
I would LOVE to have my best friend show up my door. She moved to Missouri a year after I married, and been there since. We lost contact about 18 months ago (a tornado blew her house apart)
i miss living in utah and getting together with the family every year. so fun!
