Australia

While perusing imdb.com, I saw a trailer for a new movie called "Australia." It looked interesting-ish, with Hugh Jackman & Nicole Kidman playing the main roles, but I yawned and internally passed, until I saw who the director is. Baz Luhrmann!!! I am SO seeing this movie now! (That's right. The SO is capitalized, bolded, and italicized.)

Isn't it interesting that something like that can change your perception? I didn't really want to see it, until I found out who the director was. Kind of the opposite is true too.

(Watching a trailer) Explosion. Suspense. More excitement. "Ooh, that looks like a great movie! I can't wait to go and pay money and see-- Oh. Nevermind. Kirsten Dunst/Uwe Boll/Paris Hilton is directing it... Pass."

But yeah, the creative genius behind Strictly Ballroom and Moulin Rouge is doing something amazing and different, count me in!

Yeah, I'd see anything Baz Luhrman directed too. Loved Romeo and Juliet (not for the hearthrob either), and of course Moulin Rouge.

K, I have to admit I've never heard of Baz Luhrman, but I have heard of Hugh Jackman!
I looked at the trailer, and. . . now I can't wait to see the movie, too.

I'm glad I have fellow Luhrman enthusiasts out there. :) Just a few weeks ago I was having a conversation with some friends about "what happened to Baz Luhrman? He just kind of disappeared". Lo and behold, not a week later did my hubby find information on "Australia" and tell me that Baz was coming back. I saw the trailer when we went to see Indy 4, and I'm pretty stoked about it. It looks like it will be an interesting film.

(And let's not forget what he did with "Romeo and Juliet" - I really enjoyed his rendition - and in spite of my hatred for Leo DeCaprio (sp?), he manages to pull off some pretty good performances, and that was one of them)

Lately you have been my movie critic. What I have been watching far as for movies have depended largely on your reviews.

So far we have watched Stardust, and some of my kids have seen Ironman.

Will wait to see the newest Indy on DVD instead of in the theater
